Robert Kyle McDaniel, 88, of Warm Springs, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at his residence.

He was born December 31, 1930 in Monroe County, West Virginia, the son of the late Lacy Tilford McDaniel and Ethel Louise McDowell McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel retired from the Bath County School System, where he was a custodian.

He was a member of The Mountain Grove United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved farming, gardening, fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Althea Rene Williams McDaniel, whom he married on May 19, 1951; a son, Donnie McDaniel of Mountain Grove; a brother; Larry Joe McDaniel and wife, Shirley of Tonto Basin, Arizona; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay McDaniel Ryder; a son-in-law, Rex G. Ryder; and a great granddaughter, Raelyn Gray Ryder.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Mountain Grove Cemetery with Frankie Chestnut officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 10 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.
