Roberta Shanks (Agnor Derr) of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away on May 13, 2019 with her family by her side.

She was born August 19, 1933 in Rockbridge County to Tony and Ruth Derr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Humphries; brothers, Michael, Kenneth, Ronald, and Clayton Derr; and sisters, Sue Humphries and Irene Figgers.

Roberta will be remembered as a woman of faith, who loved her family. She had many talents and enriched the lives of others.

Surviving is her husband, Freddie, and children, Dwight (Janice) Shanks, Cheri (David) Snead, Debra (Robert) Hamric and Wendi (Dana) Harris; grandchildren, Carlie Owen, Hunter Shanks, Matt Snead, Crissy Elliot and Jillian Harris; and two great-grandchildren, Blakely and Huntley Owen. Also surviving is her brother, Larry Derr, and sisters, Rebecca Clark, Linda Fitzgerald, Doris Clark and Carolyn Derr.

The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, May 16 at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Baptist Church, 11th Street, Buena Vista, by Pastor Ralph Coleman. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
