Obituary for Joan Adele Finn Joan Adele Finn
Former Lexington Resident Dies In New Jersey

Joan Adele Finn, 87, of Whiting, N.J., formerly of Lexington, Virginia, passed away from congestive heart failure on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at home surrounded by family.

Born February 27, 1932 in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Peter G. and Adelaide (Guertin) Kraft.

Joan, affectionately known as MUZZ, loved being a mother of eight children.

She later worked for 14 years at Johnson & Johnson as an executive secretary.

Upon retirement in 1997, she became a volunteer for Hospice.

Joan will be remembered for her devout faith, love of family, tasty cooking, and genuine empathy for others. She was a loving mother and grandmother, gifted writer, dear sister and supportive friend. Joan was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love, and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.

Joan was predeceased by her daughters Ellen Schofield and Theresa Wright; and sisters, Doris Emilio and Elizabeth Switzer.

She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, Margaret and Richard Jenny, Katherine and Robert Logan, Mary Irwin, and Susan Finn; her two sons, James and his wife, Felicia Finn, and Thomas Finn; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Joan is also survived by siblings, Rita Duffy and Richard Kraft, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, N.J. A committal service will follow at the church columbarium. Afterwards, the family invites friends and extended family to Joan's memorial luncheon at The Meadows at Lake Ridge Clubhouse, 2 Clear Lake Road, Whiting, N.J. The Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759 is handling funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the Visiting Nurse Association and St. Barnabas Hospice, especially Dr. Marianne Holler, DO, and Kathleen Smyth, RN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan Finn's name to Visiting Nurse Association – C88, St. Barnabas Hospice, 1433 Hooper Ave., Ste. 230, Toms River, NJ 08753.

The interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday May 20, 2019 in the Evergreen Cemetery North in Parkersburg, WV.
