Obituary for Rev. Elijah W. Clark Rev. Elijah W. Clark
Lexington Native Was Longtime Area Pastor

The Rev. Elijah W. Clark, 75, of Salem, Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

He was born on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1943, in Lexington, Virginia to the late Clarence M. and Alva Floyd Clark.

Rev. Clark pastored for over 30 years in various capacities serving his Lord. He was an avid sports fan, and certainly supported his UVA Cavaliers.

Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Clark was preceded in death by five siblings.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 55 years, Diane Clark of Salem; children, Sharon L. Stanley and husband, Jack of Salem, Michael W. Clark of Pennsylvania, and Matthew S. T. Clark of Roanoke; grandchildren, Timothy W. Clark of Woodbridge, and Luke E. Clark of Rocky Mount; six siblings; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services honoring Rev. Clark's life were conducted on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.

The family received friends on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
