George Henry McCurdy, 62, of Lexington, Virginia died Monday, June 10, 2019 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

Born December 26, 1956, he was a son of the late Robert S. McCurdy and Ruth Ayers McCurdy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne McCurdy.

George was employed at Charlie Obaugh's in Staunton, and had previously worked at Woody Chevrolet in Lexington. He enjoyed NASCAR and loved his family.

George is survived by his wife, Marilyn H. McCurdy; a son, William "Will" Ryan McCurdy; sister, Roberta Ayers; and brother-in-law, Steve Hostetter and wife, Gail, all of Lexington.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Al Bashlor and the Rev. Aaron Tunnell. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday June 13, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home.
