Karen Jean Compton Hamilton, 59, of 2416 Kanawha Trail, Covington, Virginia died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her residence.

She was born January 2, 1960 in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late Norman and Ann Godshalk Compton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by a brother, Jimmy Compton.

Surviving is her husband, Mark Hamilton of Covington; two sons, Shane Clifton of Covington and Duane Clifton of Bath County; three grandchildren, Madison Clifton, Lillian Clifton and River Clifton, all of Covington; one brother, Carl Compton and his wife, Stephanie of Fredericksburg; one sister, Rose Broce of Covington; a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.

A service will be held at a later date.
