Obituary for Elizabeth Matheny Donnally Elizabeth Matheny Donnally
McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church Member Worked With Sidney's Clothing Store

Elizabeth Matheny Donnally, 98, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge, Virginia.

Mrs. Donnally was born September 7, 1920 in Covington, a daughter of the late George and Hope Loving Matheny.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thurston Matheny; a granddaughter, Tammy Caul Carter, and a grandson, Lucas Riley.

Elizabeth worked for many years as the manager of Sidney's clothing store, but was most proud of the work she did for the Lord as a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible moderator, class president and president of the Women of the Church. She received an Honorary Life membership from the church.

After retirement, she spent many years raising her grandchildren.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Bert and Betsy Caul of Covington; her daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Paul "Buzzy" Riley of Covington; a grandson, Chris Caul and his wife, Ruth; two granddaughters, Kylene Smith and her husband, David, and Katie Cline and her husband, Ethan; two great granddaughters, Brielle Smith and Kenzie Elizabeth Cline and her special church sister, Louise Whitehead.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.

A funeral service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Woodlands Nursing Home for their loving care and especially Peter and Virgil Woodie.
