Obituary for Michael Shea Campbell Michael Shea Campbell
Glasgow Resident Worked With Mohawk For A Decade

In the early morning hours of June 20, 2019, Michael Shea Campbell of Glasgow, Virginia passed away peacefully after a 20-month battle with brain cancer.

He left this world surrounded by love and family.

Michael was a hardworking, devoted family man. He was the backbone of his family. He was the hero of his family.

Michael was born April 10, 1976 to the late Larry (Mick) and Carolyn Campbell. He grew up on South River and the memories of fishing, hunting, football and basketball would fill up pages on their own. During his high school years Michael began working at McDonald's, where he was affectionately known as "Big Country". Quite ironically, this is also where he met the future love of his life and future wife.

Throughout life Michael made a few more career changes and eventually had over 10 years of service at Mohawk. In his later years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending NASCAR races (Jimmy Johnson, baby) and watching any and everything WWE.

Left to cherish and carry on Michael's memory is his soul mate of 10 years, Janie Vess Campbell. When Michael had completely given up on love, Janie stepped in. She showed him what love was truly about and never once left his side during his 20-month battle - and son, Dakota Michael Campbell, from whom Michael drew his determination to fight. Michael also leaves behind his TV-watching companions, his three furbabies, Ahryain, Athena and Arielle.

Michael is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Mikels Campbell; one sister, Dawn Kirkpatrick (Jason); one brother, Mark Campbell (Heather); special uncles Robert Wilson and Gary Mikels; mother-in-law, Sharon Vess and father-in-law ,Thomas Vess (Donna); nieces Alexis, Sierra and Madison, who made him Uncle Mikey; niece Kara and nephew Mark; and a very special great-niece, Abigail Rose. Michael was also loved by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Bryon LePere.

The best there is. Plain and simple.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
