Clifton Forge Resident Was Iron Worker; Dies At Age 55

Robert David (Stiney) Stinespring, Jr., age 55, of 1121 Commercial Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Lewis Gale Hospital Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born November 1, 1963 in Bath County, Virginia to the late Robert David Stinespring Sr., and Martha Jane "Susie" Hyler Stinespring.

He was employed as an iron worker for Bryers Company.

He loved dogs, NASCAR, his guns, going to the Dairy Queen for breakfast, joking and kidding around, and talking to his friends. Most of all he enjoyed playing Santa Claus. He had the best sense of humor.

David is survived by his significant other, Linda Stevenson of Clifton Forge; a sister, Brenda Irvine and husband, Heston of Altavista; a niece, Kim Irvine of Staunton; three children, Jimmy Shannon of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Tammy Burrows of SC, Tina Lowen of VA; three granddaughters, Lillian Shannon, Crystal Shields, Haley Shields; a great granddaughter, Ava Wheeler; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins; and his friends at the Dairy Queen.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
