Obituary for Garnett (Rudolph) Siron Garnett (Rudolph) Siron
Monterey Resident, McKendree United Methodist Church Member, Dies At Age 85

Garnett (Rudolph) Siron, 85, of Monterey, Virginia passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Augusta Health.

He was born in Highland County on June 25, 1934, a son of the late Abel Seabrook and Cliffie Belle (Anthony) Siron.

A man of strong faith, Rudolph was raised, baptized and held lifetime membership at McKendree United Methodist Church.

A true gentleman, Rudolph enjoyed helping others throughout the county, most especially those in need and filled the father/grandfather role for many within his family. A determined person with a strong work ethic, Rudolph loved to mow grass, farm, and work outside. Above all, "Rudy" will be remembered as a selfless person who always put others above himself.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalee Malcolm Siron, whom he married June 24, 1993; step-daughters, Sherrie Johnson and husband, Craig of Fredericksburg, Rebecca Caviness and husband, Andy of Luray, and Tammy Wilkowske and husband, Wade of Herndon; brother, Ralph "Toby" Siron of Churchville; sisters, Gladys Beverage of Monterey, Connie Kolpack of Highland, Md., Anna Lee Samples of Monterey and Nellie Goebel of Barboursville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Lucy Ellen Siron, August 27, 1992, and a brother William "Bill" Siron.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Revs. Walt Westbrook and Dave Boger officiating. Burial will follow in Samples Family Cemetery in Strait Creek.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Ona "Bud" Wimer, Bob and Wayne Beverage, Tom Dever, Adam Eckard, Craig Johnson, Andy Caviness and Wade Wilkowske.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and friends in attendance.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions may be made to Deerfield Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 2927 Deerfield Valley Road, Deerfield, VA 24432; Highland County Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 268, Monterey, Va. 24465, Highland County Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 267, Monterey, Va. 24465; McDowell Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Delbert Rexrode, 527 Windrush Lane, Doe Hill, Va. 24433.

The Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
