William Edgar (Billy) Withrow, Jr., 65, of 413 Sally Ann Drive, Covington, Virginia died Friday, August 16, 2019 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor.

He was born in Clifton Forge on January 13, 1954, a son of the late William Edgar, Sr. and Margaret Byrne Withrow.

He was raised in the Catholic faith, was a 1972 graduate of Alleghany County High School, and a retired Recovery Room Operator for Mead Westvaco with more than forty years of service. He also was a former employee of H. O. Canfield in Iron Gate and Hercules in Covington.

Billy loved to fish on the Cowpasture River, camp, watch hockey and professional baseball, bowl and cook.

He is survived by two daughters, Andrea Renae Withrow and Jessica Withrow McKinney; a son, William Robert Withrow, all of Covington; three grandchildren, Taylor Rayne Withrow, Eli James Withrow, Jerry Lee McKinney; three brothers, Carl Withrow and his wife, Earleen of Clifton Forge, John Byrne Withrow of Roanoke and James Lewis (Jimmy) Withrow of Covington; and two special friends, Jackie Lynn Stone and Lanier Bates.

In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday, August 22 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Clifton Forge with Father Augustine Lukenda officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
