Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson Reyns, 87, of Covington, Virginia died Sunday, September 1, 2019 at The Harmony at Roanoke Memory Care Center in Roanoke, Va.

She was the wife of the late Robert Gene Reyns.

Mrs. Reyns was born November 25, 1931 in Covington, the daughter of the late Frank D. Johnson and Sallie Sales Johnson.

She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church.

After raising their family in Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. and Mrs. Reyns returned to Covington to enjoy retirement in the mountains that they called home.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. Mrs. Reyns loved to garden and be outdoors.

Mrs. Reyns is survived her daughter, Gena Reyns Brigman and husband, John of Columbia, South Carolina; two grandsons, John Parks Brigman Jr. and wife, Dr. Heidi Brigman, Dr. Robert Reyns Brigman and wife, Garner-Leigh; and one brother, James Ryland Johnson of Covington.

In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Reyns is preceded in death by two brothers; Frank Johnson Jr. and Maurice Johnson; and one sister, Mary Frances Halterman.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019 from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Earwood officiating. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Lone Star Baptist Church, 6100 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Va. 24426.
