Obituary for Linda Sue Jackson Wooding Linda Sue Jackson Wooding
Longtime Kappa Sigma Fraternity Cook Known As "Puddin"

Linda Sue Jackson Wooding was born on November 20, 1954 to the late Elder Clayton and District Missionary Rosetta Jackson.

Linda was the youngest of three daughters and was always full of life. While in high school, she met a young man named Thurmond "Tee" Wooding from White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. She fell in love with Tee and they married just one week after Linda completed high school.

Linda was designed to care for others whether her husband, children, family, or her extended family that reached throughout the neighborhood and into her places of work. Linda was a nurse's aide and in the early part of her working career she cared for three older sisters until they passed away. She then went on to care for hundreds of Kappa Sigma fraternity men. Her role as their fraternity cook extended far beyond the confines of the kitchen. She became counselor, friend, teacher, mentor, aunt, preacher and affectionately became known as "Puddin".

Linda saw so many of her cherished loved ones precede her in death; her grandparents, Harry and Ella Jackson and Robert and Margret Spencer of Covington; parents, husband, and son, Thurmond 'TW' Wooding. She leaves behind three children, Melissa Wooding, Nikki Wooding and Robert Wooding, all of Lexington. She had one granddaughter that she ADORED, Aubrianna Spaulding of Roanoke. She is also survived by three sisters, Sandra White of Lexington, Peggy Jackson of Milwaukee, Wis., and Angela (Ibrahim) of Turi, Kenya; a goddaughter, Robin Harvey, and a godson, Everton Charlton, both of Lexington; an aunt, Ellen (Augustine) Penn of Covington and an uncle, Elder Randall (Carolyn) Jackson of Clifton Forge, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children and dear friends.

Linda would not only allow us to grieve as we needed, but she would demand that we celebrate her life and her greatest role – being love, light, and the hands and feet of Christ. The Homegoing Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Bishop Ronald A. Watson and Elder Donald Conner officiating. A repass will follow. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at New Hope Church of God in Christ, 106 Varner Lane, Lexington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to cover additional expenses, Wooding Family, 213 Massie Street, Lexington, VA 24450.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
