Gala Native Worked With H. O. Canfield For 45 Years

Phyllis Hayslett Tingler, age 84, of Valley Ridge, Covington, Virginia passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Low Moor.

She was born May 11, 1935 in Gala, Virginia, a daughter of the late Hubert and Madeline Hayslett.

Phyllis retired from H. O. Canfield after forty-five years and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Covington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Tingler; a sister, Geneva Tingler; and a nephew, Todd Hayslett.

She is survived by a brother, Bernard Hayslett and wife, Carolyn of Clifton Forge; a sister, Edith Kelly and husband, William of Covington; a sister-in-law, Roberta Tingler of Eagle Rock; special cousins, Dale Jones and Kathy Ward; nephews and nieces, Danny Tingler, Mark Tingler, Debbie Hylton, Shari Cucci, Gina Adkins, Lee Kelly, Brian Kelly, and Sandi Wolfe.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
