Obituary for Charles A. Hylton Charles A. Hylton
MeadWestvaco Retiree Was Vietnam War Marine Corps Veteran

Charles A. Hylton, 71, of Ronceverte, West Virginia passed away September 27, 2019 from complications of heart disease and diabetes.

Charlie was born December 15, 1947 in Ronceverte to the late Charles (Clayton) and Ramah Ufa Hinkle Hylton.

He was retired from Mead-Westvaco in Covington, Virginia with 43 years of service and was a proud veteran, having served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam war. Charlie was a member of the VFW and loved being involved in Civil War re-enactments.

He was preceded in death by, other than his parents, a sister, Alice Christina and his brother, Douglas.

Surviving are his wife, Linda; daughter, Julie of Lewisburg; grandson, Nathan Chevalier of Staunton, VA.; sisters, Cheryl Ramsey of Ronceverte and Pamela Massey of Fort Spring; brother, Denzil of North Carolina; niece, Angela Surbaugh (David Alderman); nephew, Evan Massey and great niece, Lauren Surbaugh.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, September 30, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger McDaniel officiating at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
