Obituary for Charles Everette Massie Charles Everette Massie
Lewisburg Resident Was Retired Sales Engineer, Korean War Veteran

Charles Everette Massie, 86, of Lewisburg, West Virginia passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.

Charlie was born December 14, 1932 in Ronceverte, the son of the late Layton Simpson and Margaret Pearl Dilley Massie.

Mr. Massie was a member of Shuck Memorial Baptist Church, a graduate of Greenbrier High School, attended Concord College and Bluefield State College.

He was a member of the Greenbrier Masonic Lodge # 42, a Shriner, and former member of Elks Lodge # 1758.

Charlie was a retired sales engineer with ABB and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. His biggest passion was the American Heritage Music Hall, of which he cofounder. Charlie's love for music made him very adept in making stringed instruments. He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid photographer.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Harvey Massie; and a brother, James Massie.

Surviving are his sons, Chris and Janette Massie of Coldspring, TX and Mike and Tammy Massie of Abingdon, VA.; grandson, Ross Massie of Abingdon, VA; great-granddaughter, Morgan Ross Massie of Abingdon, VA.; brothers, Billy Massie of Lewisburg, Alton Massie of White Sulphur Springs and Ronnie Massie of St. Augustine, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Massie will be Wednesday October 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.

The family will receive their friends on Tuesday October 1, 2019 at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
