Clifton Forge Native Was Main St. Baptist Church Member, Former Alleghany Regional Hospital Cook

Margray Tyler Christian, age 73, of 1000 Tremont Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her residence.

Margray was born May 25, 1946 in Clifton Forge to the late Alfred and Blonzetta Thompson Tyler.

She was a retired cook for Alleghany Regional Hospital and a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board. She loved to cook for all area churches and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. She loved her family and was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her biological father, Miles Ellis; a brother, Robbie Tyler; a sister-in-law, Joneal Tyler; and a brother-in-law, Burgess Christian.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Christian of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Stephanie Pierce and husband, Bryant of Roanoke; three sons, Earl Dwayne Christian of Durham, NC, Dana Spinner and wife, Ambrin of Clifton Forge; and Miles Christian, Sr. of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Nannie West of Clifton Forge and Eldeen Tyler of Maryland; a brother, Alfred Tyler of District Heights, MD; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Christian and Nora Christian; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Christian and wife, Marva, and Danny Christian; eighteen grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Main Street Baptist Church, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Preston Tyler officiating. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will visit with friends on Monday morning from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at Main Street Baptist Church.
