Obituary for Mark Campbell Mark Campbell
First Presbyterian Church Member Was Korean War Veteran

Mr. Mark Campbell, age 91, of Covington, Virginia died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at his residence.

He was married for sixty-one years to the late Eleanor Campbell, who preceded him in death in 2016.

Mr. Campbell was born February 25, 1928 in St. George, West Virginia to the late James Campbell and Dessie Burns Campbell.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Mark was a graduate of West Virginia University.

In 1966, he moved to Covington to start working for Westvaco and retired in 1992 as the engineering manager. Following his retirement, Mr. Campbell was active in the library renovation, construction of the Salvation Army building as well as the restoration of the C&O Depot.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Campbell is survived by a niece, Arlene Snyder and husband, Steve of North Carolina and special friends, Berkley and JoAnne Paxton.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Slate officiating.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Falling Spring Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 880, Covington, VA 24426.
