Franklin Thurston, Sr., age 86, of 802 West Ridgeway Street, Apartment 401, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at The Brian Center Health and Rehab Center, Low Moor, Virginia.

He was born January 14, 1933 to the late John Thurston and Mattie Reed Thurston.

He was a Registered Nurse for LewisGale Alleghany Hospital, Low Moor, Cherry Hill Hospital in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce and Mabel Thurston; and brother, John Thurston.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina Reed and husband, Jeffrey of Mississippi, Davina Ross of Florida; a son, Frank Thurston, Jr. of West Virginia; two sisters, Virginia Manning of Texas, Mary Jo Cole of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. No services are scheduled at this time.
