Diana Lynn Herndon, 73, of Lexington, Virginia died Friday, October 11, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born, February 2, 1946 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Clarence H. Johnson and Mildred Virginia Carter Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughters Bonnie Mann and Debbie Hill.

She graduated from high school with honors. She then joined the United States Army, where she was trained as a nurse. She served her country for four years before being honorably discharged.

She is survived by children, Richard "Ritchie" Hill, Angela Brezovsky, Mike Hill and Ronny Hill; sisters, Charlotte Hayes and Marjorie Rhodes; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.
