Obituary for Patricia Hawley Fleenor Patricia Hawley Fleenor
Longtime Educator Was Rockbridge Baths Resident

Patricia Hawley Fleenor of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 peacefully at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital following a short illness.

She was born August 23, 1934 in Bluefield, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles Ray Hawley and Sadie McCulloch Hawley.

Mrs. Fleenor was a graduate of the Bluefield High School class of 1952, and received both a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1958.

After several positions in private industry, Mrs. Fleenor returned to her passion of teaching. She taught in the Augusta County school system, Southern Seminary and Longwood College. During this period she met her husband, John and they were married in 1962. Their careers transitioned to ownership of a Marine business in Manteo, N.C., from which they retired to Rockbridge Baths.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fleenor was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Fleenor.

She is survived by her cousin, William Moore Heldreth of Southport, N.C.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at a future date in Lexington for both Patricia and John.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home.
