Dorothy Jane Vanderveer, 75, of Lexington, Virginia died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born in Rockbridge County, a daughter of John Dulie Vest and Mary Moore Vest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ashbridge Milton Vanderveer Jr.

Dorothy owned and operated Klip & Kurl for many years.

Surviving are her children, Clifford Vanderveer and wife, Carla of Lexington, and Michael Vanderveer of Roanoke; three sisters, Lucille Smith, Sadie Hayslett and Barbara Dudley; one brother, Ernest Vest; special great-nephews, Dylan Hostetter and Bentley Tyler; and special cousin, Martha Hayslett.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. George Warden. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
