Buena Vista Resident Was Longtime Avon Salesperson, Cafeteria Manager And BV First Pentecostal Holiness Church Member

Clara Alene Beverly, 86, of Buena Vista, Virginia went home to Jesus on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

She was born April 13, 1933 in Rockbridge County and was preceded in death by her mother, Hester Mazingo; three sisters, Dorothy, Polly and JoAnn; one brother, Berle; and a son, Don Marcus Beverly.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Clyde Archie Beverly; a daughter, Patricia Rini and husband, Bob of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sons and their wives, David and Cindy Beverly of Eagle Rock, and Timmy and Jennifer Beverly of Amherst; many grandchildren and a very special family friend, Teresa Fainter of Natural Bridge.

In addition to being a life-long member of the Buena Vista First Pentecostal Holiness Church, she had a passion for serving people. She was an Avon salesperson for 40 years and at the same time worked in the Buena Vista City Schools as a cafeteria manager for 33 years and never missed a day of work!

Mom would say, "I love to feed people" and "Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see, look twice to make sure what you saw is what you thought you saw."

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6 at the Buena Vista First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. W. David Bain, the Rev. Adam Williams and her son, Timmy officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5 at the church.

A special thanks to Shelia Camden and Sherri Byers who took such great care of Mom and Dad during this time of struggle and a special thanks to the Rockbridge Area Hospice for their help as well.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
