Obituary for Mildred Fisher (Ginger) Meadows Mildred Fisher (Ginger) Meadows
Iron Gate Advent Christian Church Member Was Former H. O. Canfield Employee

Mildred Fisher (Ginger) Meadows, age 88, of 801 Market Ave, Iron Gate, Virginia died Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at her residence.

She was born February 26, 1931 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late William Cornelius and Mildred Kern Fisher.

She was a laborer for H. O. Canfield and a member of Iron Gate Advent Christian Church, where she taught the Adult Sunday School class.

She loved BINGO, and enjoyed all sports, but especially golf, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Meadows in January of 2018; a daughter, Donna Jean Shinalt; and a brother, Jennings Fisher.

She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Washburn of Iron Gate, Susie Amos of Salem, and Teresa Knick of Iron Gate; two sisters, Nannie Bell Thurston of Hampton and Joyce K. Clark of Troutville; five grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and special caregivers, Mary Irving and Tasha Burks.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Washburn, Josh Amos, Stephen Keyser, Randy Meadows, Ricky Meadows, Haydon Washburn, and Nathon Washburn.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to Iron Gate Advent Christian Church, or a church of your choice.
