Obituary for Elizabeth Thurston Nicely Elizabeth Thurston Nicely
Clifton Forge Native Was Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church Member, Sunday School Teacher

Elizabeth Thurston Nicely, age 88, of 244 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at her residence.

She was born September 21, 1931 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Edward W. Thurston and Nellie Robinson Thurston.

She was a homemaker throughout her life, a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years, a member of the Clifton Forge Women of the Moose Chapter 22, and an Atlanta Braves fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Lorenzo Nicely; and a brother, Edward Thurston, Jr.

She is survived by three daughters, Paula N. Crance, Kathy N. Perry and husband, Kenneth, all of Clifton Forge; Denise E. Nicely of Chesapeake; two sons, Mark Nicely and wife, Chris of Clifton Forge, Daryl A. Nicely and wife, Jacquelin of Wheeling, WV; a sister, Katherine T. Cash of Covington; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; special family friend, Kathleen Trost; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Mrs. Donna Nicely and Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service.

The Women of the Moose Ceremony will be presented during the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, 544 Church Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, 24422.
