Obituary for James Edward (Jim) Frye, Jr. James Edward (Jim) Frye, Jr.
Covington Resident Was Former C&O Brakeman

Mr. James Edward (Jim) Frye, Jr., age 82, of Covington, Virginia died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his residence.

He was the husband of Inez Carter Frye.

Mr. Frye was born September 6, 1937 in Alleghany County, the son of the late James Edward Frye, Sr. and Dollie Fridley Frye.

A lifetime member of this community, he was employed as a brakeman by the C&O Railroad, retiring in 1991 after more than three decades of service.

Mr. Frye was a member of Living Word Assembly of God. Jim was also a member of the Virginia National Guard for seven years. He was an avid gardener and Baltimore Orioles fan.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Frye is survived by a daughter, Sandy F. Albrecht and husband, Fred of Altavista; and two grandchildren, Candis Michelle Raikes and husband, Jordan and Aaron Quinn Albrecht. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Frye was preceded in death by a sister, Cary Frances Frye.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Tremblay officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Gilliland. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Richardson, Aaron Albrecht, Wayne Grimm, Howard Liptrap, Jr., Pete Richardson, Corey Peters, Matt Bookman and Gary Carter. Alternate pallbearer will be Dallas Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Albrecht, Jr., Ronnie Bookman, and Donald "Snapper" Bookman.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959.
