Rosa Dovie (White Wing) Ramsey, 83, of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia walked on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 4, 2019.

She was born June 9, 1936 in Buchanan, a daughter of the late Robert Dewitt Newcomb and Ethel Hawkins Newcomb.

She was a member of the Monacan Indian Nation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewett Mitchell Ramsey Sr.; brothers, George Lee Cox, Lewis Dewitt (Hook) Newcomb, and James Robert (Pete) Newcomb; sister, Jean Louise Harper; and one grandchild, Kelsey Briana Ramsey.

Surviving are her daughter, JoAnne Ramsey Ellington (John) and son, Jewett Mitchell Ramsey Jr. (Debra Carlene); six grandchildren, John Mitchell Ellington, Raun Stephen Ellington, and Jennifer Linne Nicely, Elizabeth Anne Ramsey, Samantha Dawn Ramsey, and Bridget Deneen Ramsey; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Rebecca Hylton and Lorrine Elizabeth "Susie" Newcomb.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 8 at Glasgow Cemetery with the Rev. W. David Bain. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, Virginia.
