Ellen Gray Birmingham Williams, 95, of Buena Vista, Virginia died Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Shenandoah Valley Health and Rehab Center.

Born April 22, 1924 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of Raymond Norvelle Birmingham and Ethel Agatha Alexander Birmingham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Houston Williams.

Ellen was a member of Buena Vista Presbyterian Church and worked for many years as the cafeteria manager for Parry McCluer High School.

Surviving are her sons, Raymond H. Williams (Frankie) of Buena Vista, and George David Williams (Vickie) of Clemmons, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jollette Williams, Raymond Williams Jr., Danielle Broughman, Robin Williams, Christie Davis, David Williams; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
