Clean-Up Month Was Successful
LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor,

Many thanks to all who worked so hard during Clean up month in April. The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism gave out over 100 trash bags.

Here are some of the examples that we know:

- The Falling Spring Ruritan Club picked up 57 bags of trash.

- It is estimated that the Alleghany County Sheriffs Office supervised the pick up of over 3108 pounds and 9 bags of trash as well as over 338 tires.

- The Covington High School National Beta Club picked up 4 bags of trash.

- Five from Ole Town Covington picked up 12 bags.

- 23 members of the Covington Woman’s Club each picked up at least one bag of trash.

We would be happy to share examples of others who collected. You can let us know by calling the Chamber at 540-962-2178 or email Megan Persinger at mpersinger@ahchamber.com.

Let’s all work together to keep our area litter-free! Make the Alleghany Highlands the most pristine area in the state! Keep our area clean so we do not need a clean-up month!

Sincerely,

Megan Persinger, Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism

Nancy Moga, Covington Woman's Club
