Alleghany Highlands School Board Personnel Actions (7_15_24)   Low Moor, VA (July 18, 2024) - At the conclusion of closed session on Monday, July 15, 2024 the School Board took the following personnel action: The School Board approved the appointment of Kevin S. Linhares as Director of Maintenance and Transportation. Also approved was Travis J. Moats as Maintenance Mechanic, Kristie M. Link as Custodian/Floater, Brenda L. Tancredi as Shuttle Driver, and Daniel K. Staton as Shuttle Driver, all at the Bus Garage. Also approved were Michael R. Spagnoli as Custodian, and Crystal M. Crookshanks as School Secretary, both at Jeter-Watson Elementary School. The school board also approved Caitlin A. Pye-Lee as Special Education Teacher at Mountain View Elementary School. Logan T. Arritt was approved as Math Teacher at Covington Middle School. Also approved was Sara W. Zeek as English Teacher, and Gerald M. Hyler as Custodian, both at Alleghany High School. In Extra-Curricular activities, the School Board approved Amanda L. Sprouse as Band Assistant Director, Robert L. Griffith as Varsity Assistant Football Coach, Mary D. Tyree as Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach, Madeline G. Myers as JV Volleyball Head Coach, all at Alleghany High School. Also approved was Sydney N. Hepler as Cheerleading Head Coach, Amy B. Simmons as Volleyball Head Coach, and Vincent L. Wyatt as Track Head Coach, all at Covington Middle School. The School Board accepted the resignations of Benjamin L. Snedegar, Band Assistant Director, Kevin W. Hall, Varsity Assistant Football Coach, Leonard L. Phillips, Fall Weight Room; Nolan E. Caldwell; Winter Weight Room; Mark A. Jefferson; Spring Weight Room, all at Alleghany High School. The Board also accepted the resignation of Tony L. Taylor; Softball Head Coach at Covington Middle School. The School Board accepted the retirements of Rebecca J. Irvine, Director of Finance, effective September 30, 2024, and Lynne R. Seldomridge, teacher at Callaghan Elementary School effective August 1, 2024.
