Next CF Community Gathering Event Set Aug. 15, 2024   Clifton Forge, VA (Aug. 1, 2024) - The August Edition of the 2024 Clifton Forge Community Gatherings will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 in the WestRock Room of the Historic Masonic Theatre from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. “A Town Council Candidate Conversation” will be the main focus of this Gathering. The WestRock Room is in the third floor of the Historic Masonic Theatre and is accessible by elevator or stairs from the main lobby of the theatre. The principal part of the program will be a conversation with the Clifton Forge Town Council candidates. Council candidates will answer questions submitted by citizens and asked by a moderator. The questions were compiled by condensing related questions submitted by individuals. Council candidates are Michael Foster, Jeff Irvine, and Carl “Shorty” Wolfe. Jr. Autumn Morgan will be the moderator. The program will also include a presentation, “Five Sides Moving Forward”, by Kristen McConnell. Five Sides is the name given the former Sona Bank building by Kristen and her husband Ron. They purchased the building to house their law practice and are currently renovating it. The presentation will focus on the renovations and plans for future additional uses. The Gathering will end with Blue Ribbon Recognition Awards presented to business owners who have made significant improvements on the exterior of their buildings. The Clifton Forge Community Gatherings are held monthly to provide a forum for citizens. All residents, businesses, and others interested in a dynamic future for Clifton Forge are encouraged to attend. It is not necessary to be a resident of Clifton Forge to participate in the Community Gatherings. All area citizens are welcome to participate. Attendees are welcomed and encouraged to share ideas and strategies to make Clifton Forge a better place to live, work, play and do business. The Clifton Forge Community Gathering initiative in not a part of the Clifton Forge Town Government.
