Volunteers are needed for the 63rd U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur

Hot Springs, VA (Aug. 11, 2025) - Volunteers are being sought to support the 63rd U.S. Senior Amateur Championship at The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa this September 13 through 18. The U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur is one of two USGA championships the resort will be hosting, the ninth and 10th for The Omni Homestead respectively.

Volunteers will help with player registration and hospitality, act as spotters and course marshals, facilitate live scoring, work as standard bearers and do other tasks. Each volunteer will receive the official U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship Gear Package and a meal voucher for each shift.

Volunteers can sign up online at www.golfgenius.com/pages/11260482340482204401. The $100 volunteer fee includes two shirts, a hat, a pullover, and meals during your shifts. Any volunteer who signs up for two or more shifts will receive a complimentary round of golf at The Cascades. Any volunteer under the age of 18 (junior) or currently attending a college or university will have their volunteer fee waived.

The Homestead Resort will host both the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur and U.S. Senior Amateur for the second time. In 2009, Sherry G. Herman defeated Carolyn Creekmore, 4 and 3, in the final match. William C. Campbell collected his second consecutive U.S. Senior Amateur title with a 3-and-2 victory over Keith Compton in 1980.

The first of two U.S. Women’s Amateurs was played at The Homestead in 1928 when Glenna Collett Vare won the third of her record six championships. Wendy Ward was also victorious in 1994, a 2-and-1 triumph over 2022 U.S. Senior Women’s Open champion Jill McGill. The United States of America posted a 13-5 triumph in the 1966 Curtis Cup Match.

The 2025 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur and 2029 U.S. Senior Amateur will be the 22nd and 23rd championships hosted in the Old Dominion State.

The deadline for volunteer registration is August 1st, 2025. For any inquiries about the volunteer program, please email chris.nichols@omnihotels.com, arlene2025sram@gmail.com or contact the Homestead Golf Pro Shop at 540-839-7739.
