CLIFTON FORGE TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS 547 MAIN STREET • INVOCATION      • PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE • CALL TO ORDER • APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes          Council Meeting               April 14, 2026 RECOMMENDATION: Approve the minutes for April 14, 2026 • PRESENTATION Clifton Forge Community and Economic Development Strategic Plan-Amanda McGee (RVARC) – 15 minutes • Virginia Housing Presentation-Frank Webster-15 minutes • ACTION ITEMS Department Reports Code Enforcement Police Department Public Works Library Water Plant Fire Department Director of Planning and Community Development RECOMMENDATION: Approve the reports as submitted and written. - To consider a request from the town to close East Ridgeway and Main Street from the Elks to Jefferson Ave for a car show. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the request To consider an appeal from Jason and Tracy Klein regarding a decision made by the Architectural Review Board. - To introduce the candidates for Town Council to fill the unexpired term of Ben Nicely. Four candidates have submitted their letters of interest and resumes. To hold a discussion regarding 600 Main Street and purchasing the property back from Jason Helmintoller for the same amount he paid for it, and to consider holding a vote. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the purchase from Jason Helmintoller - To schedule a Called Meeting for May 19, 2026 at 7:00 pm for initial reading of the FY 2026-2027 budget reading and to also make an appointment to Town Council for the vacant seat of Benjamin Nicely, whose term is unexpired. • MANAGER’S COMMENTS • PUBLIC COMMENTS • COUNCIL COMMENTS • NEW BUSINESS/IF APPLICABLE • CLOSED SESSION      The Council for the Town of Clifton Forge will enter closed session pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711 (A) (8) regarding a specific legal matter. • ADJOURNMENT
