Obituary for Roy Jaret Dever Roy Jaret Dever
Vinegar Run Resident Dies At Age 96

Roy Jaret Dever, 96, of the Vinegar Run community of Highland County, Virginia passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Highland County, January 24, 1924, a son of the late Samuel Gilmore and Ada Elizabeth (Tingler) Dever.

A man who loved the Lord, Roy enjoyed helping people in any way he could. He will be remembered as a loving and caring Dad.

He is survived by his son, Jaret F. Dever and wife, Maxine of Monterey; and his daughter, Linda Gray Gwin and husband, Richard of Roanoke.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020 in McLaughlin Cemetery with Pastor Chip Hill officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Buddy and Dean Hunt, Allen Lowry, Dennis Kincaid, Mike Humphries and Gruver Watson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Highland County Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 268, Monterey, Va. 24465.

The Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
