Obituary for Virginia Whipple Winfree Virginia Whipple Winfree
Lexington Was Longtime Rockbridge County School System Teacher

Virginia Whipple Winfree, 79, of Lexington, Virginia died Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

She was born March 7, 1940 in Lexington, a daughter of Douglas Hamilton Whipple and Claudia Fleming Whipple.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Claudia W. Robinson.

Virginia was a teacher and taught in the Rockbridge County School system for over 30 years.

Surviving are her children, Ann. W. Nugent (Todd) of Midlothian and Peyton B. Winfree (Gale) of Manakin-Sabot; four granddaughters, Katherine Scott, Abigail Winfree, Sarah Nugent and Emily Nugent.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at New Providence Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Kim Glenn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brownsburg Museum, P. O. Box 82, Brownsburg, VA 24415.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
