Obituary for Raymond Junior Waid Raymond Junior Waid
White Sulphur Springs Resident Dies At Age 90

Raymond Junior Waid, 90, of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Peyton Hospice House.

Mr. Waid was born on May 9, 1929 in Waid's Draft in White Sulphur Springs.

He was the son of the late Raymond Lake and Ada Sue Martin Waid.

He served our great county in the United States Army, a part of the Tank Outfit. Later, he retired from the Forest Service after working for 20 years.

Raymond took his part as a member of the local VFW, the Anthony Creek Fire & Rescue, and the Anthony Creek Lions Club.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Waid; last of his generation, his brothers, Leonard, Emerson, Calvin, Glenn, Willard, and Jasper Waid; and his sisters, Frances Arbogast, and Catherine Childers.

Surviving Raymond is his loving wife, Helen Irene Waid of White Sulphur Springs; his daughters, Susie Dolin, Rosemary Church, Julie Burton, and Lisa Rothgeb and husband, Donnie, all of Alvon, WV; sons, Duke Waid and wife, Patti of Lewisburg, Richard Waid and wife, Lynn of Alvon, and Robert Waid of Alvon; sister-in-law, Glenna Waid of Alvon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Alvon Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Buck Caldwell officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the graveside.

There will be a memorial service to take place at a later date at the Waid home place.

The family request in lieu of flowers that donations of sympathy be made to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV, 24901.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
