Obituary for Glenn Zierler Glenn Zierler
Temple Baptist Church Member Was Code Compliance, Zoning Official For Alleghany County

Glenn Zierler, age 58, of 8951 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died Monday, March 30, 2020 at Charleston Area Memorial Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia.

Glenn was born on May 9, 1961 at Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, Arizona, a son of Alfred and Mary Liles Zierler.

He was a code compliance officer and zoning official for Alleghany County and a member of Temple Baptist Church.

He enjoyed coaching all youth sports and playing golf.

In addition to his father, Glenn was preceded in death by a brother, Robert K. "Bob" Monro.

He is survived by a daughter, Nicole Zierler of Staunton; two sons, Adam Zierler and Matthew Zierler, both of Covington; his former wife, Beth Zierler of Covington; his mother, Mary Monro and husband, Robert, a brother, Scott Perry and wife, Nancy and three sisters, Melinda Nelson and husband, Rob, Lisa Branigan and husband, Kevin, and Carolyn Hunter and husband, Andy, all of Michigan; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In compliance with the Governer's order, a private graveside service will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington, with Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating. There will be no visitation.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Temple Baptist Church, 300 Stratton Street, Covington, VA 24426.
