Obituary for Norine Turner Stoessel Norine Turner Stoessel
Lifelong Member Of Whatcoat United Methodist Church Was Former Greenbrier Hotel Employee

On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, Norine Turner Stoessel of White Sulphur Springs, WV passed away at Greenbrier Health Care Center with her family by her side.

She was born September 5, 1934 in White Sulphur Springs, WV, the daughter of the late Harry and Listie Turner.

Norine graduated from White Sulphur High School in 1952. After that, she began a short career working at the Greenbrier Hotel before meeting her husband and spending the rest of her life being a beloved wife, mother, "Gaunga", aunt, and special friend to so many.

Norine loved her family and church friends with a passion. Her hobbies included reading, spending time with her family, and fellowship at church. She loved life and showed her love for Jesus every day through her compassion and unconditional love for others. She was a lifelong member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities, from the choir, ladies' aide, and church treasurer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Werner E. Stoessel; her parents, Harry and Listie Turner; brothers, Charles and Carson Turner and sister, Reva Pratt and her nephew, Harry M. Turner.

Norine is survived by her daughters, Michelle Stoessel of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Layna Wood (Bill) of Hedgesville, WV; a grandson, Garrett Bostic (Kelsie) and one special great-granddaughter, Arielle of White Sulphur Springs, WV; two sisters-in-law, Betty Turner and Trudy Weber; two nieces, Lana Bartlett (Chuck) and Bobbie Jo Keyes (James) and two nephews, Peter Weber (Senda) and Urs Weber.

Graveside services will be held for the immediate family at Mapledale Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, WV on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Officiating the service will be Reverend Ed Craft and Reverend Greg Scott.

In observation of the current situation of the country and COVID 19, a celebration of her life will be held at a later, undetermined date.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Whatcoat United Methodist Church, c/o Anita McDowell, 432 Pine Gap Road, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986.
