Obituary for Paul Wayne Lacks Paul Wayne Lacks
National Guard Veteran Was Retired AET Mechanic

Paul Wayne Lacks, 81, of 6310 Ogles Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Lacks was born September 24, 1938 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Lindsay and Edith Morris Lacks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Lacks, Sr. and Lindsay Lacks, Jr.

Paul served in the National Guard and retired in 1998 as a mechanic from AET.

He was an avid fan of the Virginia Cavaliers and had a special love for his family.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Morris Lacks of Covington; one son, Nathan Lacks and his wife, Missy of Buchanan; one daughter, Tammy Newhouse and her husband, David of Nace; one grandson, Matt Jones of Nace and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with the guidelines of the current pandemic crisis, a private graveside service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Hokes Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
