Shirley Marie Sopko, 77, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

She was born on June 8, 1942 in Havre De Grace, Maryland to the late Carr Henry and Frankie Elizabeth Collins Beavers.

She was a foster parent for many years, and fostered over 50 children. She loved to dance, was good at clogging, and enjoyed horseback riding.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandmother, Pattie Rowe Beavers; a son, James Nooft; sister, Lois Eller; and brother, Clyde Beavers.

Survivors include her son, Steven Sopko; sisters, Ida Workman, Jessie Beavers, Henrietta Stoneburner, Connie Beavers, Linda Wiley, and Rita Coldiron (Phil); brother, Michael Beavers; three grandchildren, Jamie, Dean, and Toni; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.
