Obituary for Emily (Faye) Campbell Sorrels Emily (Faye) Campbell Sorrels
Buena Vista Resident Was Burlington Industries Retiree, Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church Member

Emily (Faye) Campbell Sorrels of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born April 26, 1941, Faye was the daughter of the late Roy McKinley Campbell and Dorothy Randolph McCullough Campbell.

On July 29, 1960, she married the love of her life, Paul "Sheldon" Sorrels who survives.

Faye was a graduate of Natural Bridge High School where she was crowned homecoming, Christmas and May queens her senior year.

Mrs. Sorrels retired from Burlington Industries in Glasgow. Faye faithfully attended Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church in Buena Vista where her loving husband served as pastor.

She was a 20-year breast cancer survivor and had many other illnesses recently that she fought with grace and dignity.

Faye was preceded in death by her brother, Maynard Randolph Reynolds, and two sisters, Linda Campbell Fainter and Betty Campbell Powell.

Survivors include her devoted daughters, Angela Sorrels Yurachek of Harrisonburg and Lisa Sorrels Bolen of Buena Vista. She also had three grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud: Amber Nicole Bolen, Lucas Ryan Bolen and Michael Paul Yurachek. She is also survived by two loving sisters, Marjorie "Tootie" Campbell Beard of Lexington and Laura "Sis" Reynolds Powell of Natural Bridge Station. In addition, Faye was survived by many close in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as many friends.

A private funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church in Natural Bridge Station by the Rev. David Bain and the Rev. Terry Bostic. Distant relatives and friends are encouraged to attend burial services at Green Hill Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
