Covington Native Was Self-Taught Musician, Lewisburg Resident

Brian Lee Lockhart, 53, of Lewisburg, WV passed away peacefully on July 7, 2020 at Duke University Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born March 13, 1967 in Covington, Virginia.

Brian was a self-taught musician, and found his place under the sun behind his drum set.

He was a proud father and loyal friend to all that knew him.

He loved life, and his family fiercely.

He was a passionate chef and prided himself on a well-cooked cut of beef, of which his family all enjoyed as often possible.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sandra Lockhart-Dawson (Gerald), as well as his sons, Ryan and Aaron Lockhart; brother, Robert Lockhart (Ashley); an aunt and uncle, Mike and Gail Larned and their three girls are left to cherish his memory, along with his fiancée, Jessica Hammock and her children, as well as many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Maxwell Lockhart, Maternal Grandparents C. R. "Bob" and Mildred Compton, and paternal grandparents, Herbert Lockhart, and Polly Lockhart-Hefner.

A visitation will be held Saturday evening, July 11, 2020 to honor his memory at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs from 6-8 p.m. Covid-19 restrictions apply.

A private funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon for family.
