White Sulphur Springs Resident Was Hercules Retiree, U. S. Army Veteran

Philip Gary (Bill) Watson, 86, of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia passed away July 15, 2020 at the White Sulphur Springs Center.

Bill was born November 21, 1933 in Neola, WV, the son of the late Marion Martin and Hazel H. Hefner Watson, Jr.

Bill retired from the Hercules plant in Covington, Virginia, then became a Skycap at the Roanoke Airport, Roanoke, VA.

He was a U. S. Army veteran.

Bill was an avid golfer, loved working on his old cars and smoking cigars.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Watson and his sisters, Mary Frances Forren and Betty Jo Maupin.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Tyree Watson; daughter, Lesley Watson of Lewisburg; sons, Philip Watson of White Sulphur Springs and Clark Watson of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Hugo Hughes, Alex Hughes, Sophia Watson, Clayton Watson, Sterling Watson and Zane Watson; sister, Brenda Legg of Frankford and brother, Bob Watson of Florida.

It was Bill's wish to be cremated with no services.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
