Rhode Island Native Was Ronceverte Baptist Church Member

Mary Elizabeth Froias Smith, 78, of Ronceverte, West Virginia passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, where she was greeted by her loving husband on September 8, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center due to complications from dementia.

She was born January 17, 1942 in Middletown, Rhode Island to Joseph William Froias and Annie Alice Decosta Froias.

She was a member of Ronceverte Baptist Church.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Since her diagnosis, she loved going for rides in the country whether in a car, golf cart, or on a side-by-side.

She is preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband of over fifty years, Wayne Gail Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Christine Guettler (Mark) of Brown Summit, NC, Susan Smith-Linton (Chris) of Ronceverte, WV, and Elizabeth Smith (Roger) of Lewisburg, WV, Christopher Smith (Lisa) of Bridgeport, WV; grandchildren, Brandius Smith (J.R.) of Gibsonville, NC, Amber Atkins (Daniel) of Augusta, WV, Brianna Leesburg (Mike) of Circleville, OH, Steven Smith (Hope) of Beckley, WV, Sierra Smith and Christa Smith of Bridgeport, WV, Coy Linton of Ronceverte, WV; great-grandchildren, Jaden Dorsey of Augusta, WV, Grayson Smith of Gibsonville, NC, Gavin Satterwhite, Jozlynn Atkins and Eli Atkins of Augusta, WV, Hunter Smith of Beckley, WV, Bodie Leesburg of Circleville, OH, with one on the way; brother-in-law, Gary Smith (Jean), of Crawley, WV; as well as a special friend, Sharon Jones, who she loved dearly.

Services will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home in Lewisburg. The funeral will be Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Graveside services will follow at Rosewood Mausoleum.

We will be following COVID-19 regulations and request guests wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing.
