Obituary for Dorman Ray Hostetter Dorman Ray Hostetter
Vietnam Veteran Was BARC Retiree

Dorman Ray Hostetter, 79, of Lexington, Virginia died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Dorman was born January 31, 1941 in Lexington, a son of the late William Colbert Hostetter and Margie Bane Hostetter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Lee Hostetter and Sylvia Hostetter; and three sisters, Nellie Atkinson, Janis DeAngelis and Minnie Lavigne.

He served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and retired from BARC Electric Company.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Potter Hostetter; daughter, Kim Hostetter Patterson (Dennis); granddaughter, Hannah Patterson (Andrew); grandson, Bryce Patterson (Haileigh); three sisters, Brenda Irvine, Thelma Schofield and Bertha Brown; one brother, Sam Hostetter; three special bear hunting friends, Allen Tolley, Pat Dorey (Dog Bite) and Jerry Dorey (Super Pup); along with many other friends and family.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 7 at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Reese officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018 or Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.
