Obituary for Roscoe F. Aliff Roscoe F. Aliff
Alderson Resident Was WV Highway Department Retiree, Life-Long Farmer

Roscoe F. Aliff of Alderson, West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 10, 2020 after a long-blessed life of over ninety-five years.

Born June 5, 1925, he was the son of the late William P. and Lula Parker Aliff.

Roscoe was a veteran who served in both the Air Force and Army. He was retired from the WV Department of Highways and enjoyed being a life-long farmer.

His greatest loves were his Lord, his family and the outdoors, especially hunting and hound dogs.

Roscoe was a member of the Griffith Creek Baptist Church for over sixty-five years. He loved his church and church family where he served as a deacon, superintendent and taught various classes.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Romeo, Edsel and Giles; an infant brother, William,; sisters, Daisy Ballengee, Luverna Maddy, Emojean Canterbury, Theda Wallace, Zeda Owens, Sirelda Clay, Lesie Toler, May Adkins and son-in-law, Kevin M. Saunders.

He is left behind by the love of his life, Leanna Hope Aliff, whom he shared over sixty-seven years of marriage. He is also survived by children, Leanna Gail Ryan (Melvin), Tami L. Saunders and Tim R. Aliff (Char); grandchildren, Lee Ryan, Rebecca Ryan (Jason Vickers), Beth Ryan, Kevin W. Saunders (Nala) and Samuel R. Aliff (Kaylee); sister-in-law, Sadie Jean Dotson and his adopted family, Tim and Jeanne Luce. Roscoe had a huge extended family including sixty-four nieces and nephews.

Services will be private for the family. The Aliff family would like to extend a special Thank You to the loving staff at "The Brier" who called Roscoe, "Popaw".

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Griffith Creek Baptist Church.

We will be following COVID-19 Regulations and request that guests wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing.
