Obituary for Ida Sue Zimmerman Ida Sue Zimmerman
Lewisburg Resident Dies At Age 84

Ida Sue Zimmerman, 84, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the White Sulphur Springs Center.

She was born November 5, 1936 at White Sulphur Springs, WV, the eldest of 13 children to the late Reginald and Lydia "Elizabeth" Bittinger Perry.

Ida worked food service at Fort Savannah Inn and Shoney's Restaurants and was a member of Lewisburg Baptist Church.

She loved her family and donated to various charities throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer "Soonie" W. Zimmerman in 1978; and siblings, Wilma Jean Perry, Reginald "Bud" Perry, Maynard Perry, Ralph Perry and Harold Perry.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sheila Leslie of White Sulphur Springs, Julia Zimmerman of Florida and Lisa Rush (Joe) of Lewisburg; a son, Mark E. Zimmerman (Nancy) of North Carolina; grandchildren, Adam and Amy Humphreys of Youngstown, OH, Tony and Michelle Rush of Harrisonburg, VA, Justin and Nicole Gatlin of Millboro, VA and Sarah and Erin Leslie of White Sulphur Springs; great grandchildren, Hunter and Fisher Galtin, A.J. and Alizabeth Humphreys, and Kristopher and Kalista Rush; three sisters, Emma Lou Carper (Wayne) of Covington, VA, Debbie Harvey (Tom) of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Lydia Belinda Huffman of Union; and three brothers, Julian Perry (Judy) of Pennsylvania, Joseph Perry of White Sulphur Springs and Dale Perry (Mary) of Crows, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Lewisburg, with Rev. Emory Hanna officiating. Entombment will follow the service.

Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum on Tuesday.

Those attending are asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing Covid-19 guidelines.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
