Former Reeves Brothers Department Manager Dies At Age 89

Emmett Lee Plogger, 89, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home.

Born November 6, 1931 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Thomas Preston Plogger and Sarah Jane Hostetter Plogger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Tincy) Loretta Moore Plogger; six brothers, Richard, Humphries, Lawrence, Homer, Marshall and Melvin; and four sisters, Pearl, Ethel, Nervie and Mabel.

Emmett retired as a department manager with Reeves Brothers.

He also loved to play golf, poker, sitting on the porch telling stories and listening to the radio.

Surviving are his daughter, Dreama L. Jarvis; brothers, Oscar Plogger and Clarence Plogger; two grandchildren, Crystal Jarvis, and Chase Jarvis and wife, Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Entsminger and Christopher Clark; special nephew, Robbie Hostetter; and special friends, Carol Moore, Tonia Carter, Bobbi Jo Ayres and Ed Wilmer.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with John Thompson officiating. Social distancing and masks will be required.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
