Obituary for Rev. Glendon Allen Pysell Rev. Glendon Allen Pysell
Covington Native Was Methodist Minister, Environmental Chemist

Rev. Glendon Allen Pysell passed away on January 23, 2021.

Glen was born in Covington, Virginia, August 6, 1942 to Elizabeth and Charles Pysell.

He is survived by a younger sister, Cynthia, and was preceded in death by his older brother, David and his younger brother, Paul.

Glen had twin brothers, Carlos and Charles, who died shortly after birth.

Glen is survived also by his wife, Judy; sons, Tim and Russ, and daughter, Leah. He is also survived by his step children, Jeff, Greg and Christine.

After graduating as valedictorian of his high school class at 16, Glen attended Erskine College on fellowship and scholarship.

He met and married Janie McCoy in 1961 and had two boys. After graduation, Glen worked in the chemical and manufacturing industries where he eventually retired as an environmental chemist. During his career, he had been an emergency medical technician (EMT), deputy sheriff, hazardous materials (firefighter) chief, professional landscaper, and other careers.

He married Judy Dillner in 2005, and they were married for the rest of his life. In "retirement," Glen became an Methodist minister and he served in the ministry for the rest of his life.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with Rev. Von Sadler officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.
