Obituary for John Albert White John Albert White
WV Department Of Highways Retiree Was Stable Manager For The State Fair For 60 Years

John Albert White, 87, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Palm Bay, FL.

He was born August 8, 1933 in Lewisburg, WV, to the late John Parks and Anna Mae Woods White.

John retired from the Department of Highways, and was a proud U. S. Army veteran. He was a sentry dog handler during the Korean Conflict.

John White or John Albert as most knew him, poor beloved father, pap (Pappy), brother, and dear friend.

John served as a stable manager for the WV State Fair for 60 years before retiring around the age of 80. He still came every year after to help with the draft horses and encourage his children and grandchildren as they grew to love this unique group of people.

John was involved with many organizations through the years involving the community of horses. He inspired many youth to stay involved and grow in the horse industry, giving many of them nicknames they still wear with pride. Generations of people will remember the name John Albert White for years to come.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Parks Lee White.

Survivors include his daughter, Katie Hannah White; sons, William Thomas White (Marilou), Timothy Parks White (Kristi), R. J. White (Emilee), Jonathan White; sister, Deanna Louise Jones (Glenn); grandchildren, Michael White, Nic White, Ashley White, Angelo White, Brihannah White, Robyn White, Robbie White, Tristan White, Sabastian White, and Luke White; and special friend, Gail White.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
